Nordic Walking Research Studies
Scientific Evidence: The Benefits Are Real
With over 8 million Nordic walkers it's not surprising that there has been quite a bit of research on Nordic walking conducted by numerous independent, reputable universities, medical professionals, research institutes and others.
This research has helped to identify and validate many benefits of the exercise. Nordic walking is the real deal, not some 'smoke and mirrors' fad exercise like some you might see.
Following is a partial list of research studies relevant to Nordic "pole" walking. Most of this is fairly technical, more geared to health care or fitness professionals. Some studies refer to specific brand names of poles used for the study, but the results apply to any decent quality Nordic walking poles.
We encourage you to let your doctor or fitness trainer know about this research so they can have confidence recommending Nordic walking to their clients or patients.
Please note that Boomyah has had nothing to do with conducting or publishing any of this research, we are simply including it here for your convenience. If you have any questions about any research study, please contact directly the appropriate individual or organization related to the study.
